SUBSTANCE: invention relates to programmable logic controllers. In the method of generating events based on the data of an automation system in an intelligent programmable logic controller operating in multiple control cycles, during each control cycle included in multiple control cycles, events in the cycle are generated by means of an intelligent programmable logic controller. Process of generating an event in a cycle contains data collection from the automation system; using analytics components to determine if there is a condition for generating an event, based on data from the automation system. Also one or more events is generated if the condition for generating an event exists. Then, the analytics specification used by the analytics components is modified based on historical data of the automation system.

EFFECT: solution is aimed at expanding the controller operating performances.
