SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture. This method includes treating seeds with a solution of a stimulant agent, ensuring contact of the weighed quantity of the sample of the treated seeds and the control sample of untreated seeds with a moisture-containing substrate, maintaining said weighed quantity of seeds in contact with the moisture-containing substrate in a thermostatted cabinet before germination, removal of the moisture-containing substrate from germinated seeds, placing the test and control samples of germinated seeds in identical transparent containers with water, compacting the germinated seeds in containers by means of vibration in the vertical plane and shock impact on the bottom of the container. At the same time, after vibration exposure to the seed samples, identical weights are placed in the container, which is followed by determining the bulk volumes of experimental (V2) and control (V3) samples of germinated seeds according to the height of the weights from the bottom of the container, and determining the stimulating activity (SA) of the stimulant agent according to the formula SA=((V2-V3)/(V3-V1))⋅100 %, where V1 is the bulk volume of swollen seeds germinated for 24 hours; V2 – bulk volume of germinated seeds of the prototype; V3 is the bulk volume of germinated seeds of the control sample.

EFFECT: method provides the ability to measure large batches of seeds, which leads to an increase in the reliability of the results obtained.
