FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to gastrointestinal tract imaging. Oral composition contains an iodinated imaging agent and at least one taste masking agent, where the iodinated imaging agent is encapsulated in the taste masking agent to obtain solid particles, where the iodinated imaging agent is a water-soluble organic or polymeric compound which contains one or more iodine substituents, and where the taste masking agent is selected from one or more polymers, a surfactant and sugar. Invention also discloses methods of preparing the composition, use of the same for gastrointestinal imaging and a method for imaging the patient's gastrointestinal tract, involving administering the oral composition to the patient and carrying out said imaging by diagnostic techniques.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides compositions with improved properties, such as cohesion and osmotic pressure.
