FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to a contrast agent containing particles of iohexol (embodiments) crystals as a contrast agent, and to a method of producing said particles of iohexol crystals. In the first embodiment, particles of iohexol crystals have bulk density of less than 0.8 g/cm3, free space between particles of more than 60 % of bulk volume and specific surface area of more than 0.8 m2/g. In the second embodiment, particles of iohexol crystals are characterized by a powder X-ray diffraction pattern having peaks 2θ at 7.6°, 16.2°, 19.9°, 20.8°, 22.3°, 29.8° and 30.7°.
EFFECT: invention increases solubility of particles of iohexol.
