FIELD: pharmaceuticals.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to pharmaceutical industry, namely to a method for preparing an agent possessing sedative and hypotensive action. Method for producing an agent having sedative and hypotensive action by triple extraction by maceration of a mixture of plant material consisting of balm herb, herb of St. John's wort, motherwort herb, 70 % ethyl alcohol, filtration, at that, the vegetal raw materials are preliminarily milled into 2 mm, the vegetal raw material mixture additionally contains thyme herb at a ratio of the herbal components in the mixture – motherwort herb : St. John's wort herb : thyme herb : balm herb 4:2.5:1:2.5, mixture is extracted at ratio of raw material : extractant 1:1, at temperature of not more than 60 °C, with extraction agent separation into equal parts and contact time of 60 minutes, 60 minutes and 30 minutes, respectively, obtained water-alcohol extracts are combined, settled at temperature of 4–8 °C for 3 days, filtered, evaporated to produce 70 % water-alcohol extract.

EFFECT: method described above enables to obtain an agent exhibiting manifested hypotensive and sedative action, as well as calming in nervous diseases, with high content of flavonoids in terms of rutin in obtained aqueous-alcoholic extract of not less than 0,21 %, dry residue content of not less than 4,23 %.
