FIELD: cosmetology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of cosmetic industry, more specifically to a depilatory composition which is an emulsion of hydrophobic particles in a continuous aqueous phase, wherein the aqueous phase comprises at least one depilatory agent and the hydrophobic particles include gelatinized starch and a derivative of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) selected from a PVP/hexadecane copolymer, a PVP/eicosene copolymer and tricontanyl PVP. Also a method for removing hair from human skin is proposed, according to which said depilatory composition is applied to the skin, where unwanted hair is present, it followed by leaving the composition on the skin for a period of time sufficient to destroy the hair, and then removing the composition and the destroyed hair from the skin.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides improved sticking of the composition to the skin, even when exposed to a stream of water.
