SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and is intended for the treatment of keratoconus and other degenerative diseases of the cornea. Drug for the treatment of keratoconus and other degenerative diseases of the cornea contains, as an active component, providing therapeutic crosslinking, an effective amount of a primary or secondary amine with functional groups in the form of a salt or as part of a transition metal complex compound or a mixture thereof.
EFFECT: use of the invention allows to increase the effectiveness of the treatment of keratoconus and other degenerative diseases of the cornea by improving the nutrition of the cornea and increasing its elastic-strength characteristics.
