FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of melting copper sulphide concentrate with high content of arsenic. Method comprises steps of mixing concentrate with quartz sand and containing CaO material to produce mixed material, mixing said material with an oxygen-containing reaction gas and heating for reaction. As a result, matte, slag and SO2 exhaust gas. By adding CaO and SiO2 during melting material of concentrate, CaO and SiO2 are reacted in furnace at high temperature. Arsenic sulphides in the concentrate are first oxidized, and then chemically react with CaO flux in order to enter slag phase in the form of calcium arsenic compounds, iron arsenates.
EFFECT: reduction of arsenic content in matte.
