FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves continuous charging of sulfide materials into furnace; blowing oxygen into layer of matte-metal-slag emulsion through horizontal blowers positioned in equally spaced relation within furnace side walls; discharging liquid products of conversion from the furnace. Oxygen introduction level is at least 5-20 times the distance between blowers and emulsion-metal interface and at least 10 times the distance between blowers and emulsion-gas interface, with metal in bath being in killed state. EFFECT: increased efficiency, wider operational capabilities by providing joint reprocessing of liquid and solid matte and other copper- bearing materials and products. 3 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
