FIELD: processing of copper ores.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sulphide ores with an arsenic content of 0.1 to 2 wt.%. The method includes the following stages: ore beneficiation to obtain a concentrate, roasting of the concentrate to obtain a cinder, its smelting to obtain a matte, matte converting and refining of the resulting blister copper. In this case, after enrichment of the ore, the concentrate for removing arsenic from it is washed with stirring with solutions of sodium, potassium or ammonium sulphide at a temperature of 5-70°C for 1-24 hours and impregnated with 1-1.7 wt.% solution of calcium hydroxide. The washing solution obtained after washing the concentrate is sent for processing to isolate arsenic sulphides.
EFFECT: binding of arsenic into safe compounds, which are slagged during further pyrometallurgical processing of the concentrate, and a decrease in its content in the products of processing of sulphide copper ores with a high content of arsenic.
