SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a rear collision early warning system based on visible light communication. Rear collision early warning system based on visible light communications comprises a positioning module, an MCU, an optical-link modulation module, an LED lamp, a photosensitive receiver, and an HMI system. Positioning module, optical-link modulation module, photosensitive receiver and HMI system are connected to the MCU separately, and the LED lamp is connected to the optical-link modulation module. Early warning system is mounted on a vehicle moving ahead and approaching from behind. Vehicle approaching from behind sends information to a vehicle moving ahead in an active way, so that a vehicle moving ahead can receive additional status information on the vehicle approaching from behind.

EFFECT: improved road safety is achieved.
