FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of controlling an engine and a device for controlling movement of a vehicle. Engine control method includes: determination of driver intent for acceleration during movement of vehicle (1); stopping fuel supply to engine (2), when it is determined that the driver has no intention to accelerate; enabling restart of engine (2) when it is determined that driver has intent to accelerate upon stopping fuel supply to engine (2); prohibition of restarting engine (2) until engine rpm (Re) falls to or below a predetermined threshold value (Tr) of rotation frequency, even when engine (2) is restarted; and restarting engine (2) after engine rpm (Re) falls to or below predetermined threshold value (Tr) of rotation frequency.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of fuel use.
