FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of aromatic polyesters. Described is a method of producing aromatic polyesters by a nucleophilic substitution reaction involving reacting 0.0404 mol of 4,4'-dichlorodiphenylsulphone and 0.0404 mol of aromatic dioxi compounds in presence of 0.044 mol of dehydrochlorinating agent of potassium carbonate in 0.002 mol of tetrabutylammonium bromide catalyst, 40 ml of dimethylsulphoxide, characterized by that additionally 0.001 mol of anhydrous sodium sulphate and 0.001 mol of titanium (IV) oxide TiO2, and aromatic dioxi compounds are phenolphthalein and dioxydiphenyl in molar ratio of 10:90 to 90:10.
EFFECT: simple method of producing aromatic polyesters, low number of by-products of polycondensation, production of aromatic polyesters having good processability at high temperatures.
