FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing copolymers of polyphenylene sulfide sulphones used in making structural articles intended for use in electronics, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, etc. Method of producing copolyphenylene sulfide sulphons involves reacting bisphenol of general formula HO-C6H4-(Q-C6H4)n-OH, where Q – single link, SO2, CO, C(CH3)2, C(CF3)2,

n=1, 2, 3, and 4-dihaloiddiaryl sulphone of general formula Z-C6H4-R-C6H4-Z, where Z=F, Cl; R=SO2, SO2C6H4-C6H4SO2 while heating in an aprotic dipolar organic solvent of dimethylacetamide. Reaction is carried out at boiling point of organic solvent in presence of alkali metal sulphide Na2S⋅9H2O, alkali metal carbonate of potassium carbonate, a catalyst. After reaction, obtained copolymer solution is purified. Bisphenol and alkali metal sulphide are taken in molar ratio from 99:1 to 1:99. Sulphide of alkali metal is added in amount of 5–15 %. Alkali metal carbonate is taken in amount of 0.5 to 1.5 mol per 1 mol of 4-dihaloiddiaryl sulphone. Catalyst used is lithium acetate and / or lithium oxalate.
EFFECT: invention reduces synthesis time, optimizes the purification step and increases molecular weight of the copolymer.
