SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. That is ensured by access point (300, 400) and method (100) implemented by means of it for data exchange with wireless device. Access point supports two or more virtual networks. Method (100) comprises receiving (110) a test request from a wireless device, wherein the test request comprises an indicator whether the wireless device supports the functionality of the multiple identifier of a basic set of services (M-BSSID); and sending (130) a test response to the wireless device in accordance with the indicator contained in the test request.

EFFECT: providing an access point for communicating with a wireless device, where the access point is capable of supporting at least two virtual communication networks.
