METHOD OF REHABILITATION TREATMENT OF INFANTS WITH CNS PATHOLOGY Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61H1/00

Abstract RU 2684862 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to rehabilitation science, and can be used for restorative treatment of infants with CNS pathology. That is ensured by step-by-step execution of a set of five-staged exercises conducted in 3–5 sessions day for 15–20 minutes during the infant's wake. At the first stage, the infant lying on a changing table in the back position is "pressed" legs to the abdomen with simultaneous bending of them in hip, knee and ankle joints, holding in the flexion position for 1–3 seconds, then the legs are unbent, the exercise is repeated 6–8 times. At the second stage, an infant lying on a changing table in a position on the back is stimulated with upper, middle and lower abdominal reflexes bilateral, performing hatching with cushions of end phalanxes of the first and second fingers in the upper, middle and lower levels of the anterior abdominal wall, force and number of exposure repetitions are varied to produce a reflex response from each exposure area; the exercise is repeated 6–8 times. At the third stage, the infant lying on a changing table in the back position is followed by reflex exercises on the feet: hatching nail plates of the first fingers along the external surface of the foot from the heel to the base of the fingers and further along the base of the fingers from the little finger to the thumb until obtaining a reflex response - back flexion in the ankle joint. Then foot is stamped with nail plates of the second-fourth fingers in direction from ankle joint to fingers. Then outer surface of shin and foot is stitched in direction from knee joint to ankle joint, then, reaching base of fifth finger, to obtain reflex response - dorsal flexion of feet. Reflex exercises on the feet are terminated by stimulating the Oppenheim's reflex. At the fourth stage, the infant is placed on an orthopedic ball and rolled forward and sideways on the ball in four positions: lying on the abdomen, on the right and left sides, on the back. Simultaneously baby is babysit lying abdomen, right and left sideways on ball and point pressure is applied in area of paravertebral zones, then hatching area of sacral and gluteus muscles. Then baby is rolled on the ball in the supine position, controlling the head position, stimulating its flexion forward when the shoulder girdle is being lifted; in each position, the exercise is repeated 6–8 times. At the fifth stage, the entire procedure is completed by stroking the entire body surface with the shoulder girdle, upper limbs, trunk and lower limbs.

EFFECT: method provides effective rehabilitation of infants with this pathology by directly affecting abdominal reflexes, increasing muscle tone of the anterior abdominal wall, reflex action on the diaphragm and the muscles controlling the upper aperture of the thorax, removing their spasm, normalizing the intrathoracic and intra-abdominal pressure, restoring tone and motility of the gastrointestinal tract, stimulating formation of the infant's reflex activity.
