SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hair styling device (1) for curling and straightening hair, comprising: first and second elongated clamping jaw (2, 3), which are rotary relative to each other; first clamping jaw (2) having first body (6) supporting first flat inner processing surface (4); and a second clamping jaw (3) having second body (7) supporting a second flat inner processing surface (5); inner surfaces (4, 5) intended for hair curl clamping; at least one heating element (41, 51) intended for heating at least one inner surface (4, 5) of treatment. According to invention, maximum width l₁ of first housing (6) is less than or equal to 90 % of maximum width l₂ second housing (7), wherein at least, one of first housing (6) and second housing (7) is asymmetric with respect to mid plane in longitudinal section of said first housing (6) or said second housing (7), respectively.

EFFECT: object is to propose a less bulky straightener that is capable of forming regular curls.
