SUBSTANCE: device for hair styling comprises first and second arms movable between a closed position in which the contact surface of the first arm adjoins the contact surface of the second arm and an open position in which the contacting surfaces of each arm are spaced apart from each other. The contact surfaces of each lever have complementary profiles. In use, a strand of hair is sandwiched between the contacting surfaces when the levers are in the closed position. To heat the hair strand between the contacting surfaces, there is a heating zone on at least one of the contacting surfaces. To cool the hair strand after heating the hair strand, there is also a cooling zone on at least one of the contacting surfaces. The cooling zone is curved.

EFFECT: when applied in the main linear movement of the hair styling device along the hair strand, the hair strands curl.
