FIELD: food industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food industry and is intended for storage of sugar beet before processing. Device for ventilation of sugar beet pile is made in the form of telescopic tunnel-shaped channel of corrugated sheet elements shaped to semi-cylinders. Cross-section of corrugation is rectangular, trapezoidal, triangular or radial type, with holes on side surface and on recesses. Inner radius of the corrugated sheet element is greater than the inner radius of the previous corrugated element from the sheet by the sheet thickness. Each corrugated element is provided with a pallet from a sheet whose width is equal to two outer radii of the corrugation, and has a flange along the edges parallel to the longitudinal axis of the airway channel. Corrugation height is constant for all corrugated elements and can not be less than 0.01 outer radius of initial, from air supply side, corrugated element. Holes on the lateral surface and on the hollows of the corrugation have a round or oval shape. Device is equipped with a fan with an air duct. Between the fan and the air duct in the form of a tunnel-shaped channel, an air heating chamber is installed, inside which there are electric heaters in the form of nichrome spirals, heaters, as well as a chamber with reservoirs for coolant, which is solid frozen carbon dioxide – "dry ice", liquefied nitrogen. Surfaces of corrugated elements are equipped with temperature sensors connected to control panel.

EFFECT: reduced losses of sugar content in sugar beet during its storage, as well as elimination of its freezing to external surface of corrugated elements.
