FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to patient monitoring devices using spatially separated antennae. Device for receiving radio frequencies (RF) when monitoring patients comprises first and second radio frequency antennae in different spatial positions or orientations, first and second radio frequency receivers, each of which is connected to a corresponding antenna from the first and second radio frequency antennae and which receive and demodulate radio frequency signals of at least the first and second carrier frequencies to recover data packets from at least a first medical monitoring sensor, which transmits data packets containing information related to a first vital sign in the radio frequency signal at the first carrier frequency, and from a second medical monitoring sensor, which transmits data packets containing information related to a second vital sign, in the radio frequency signal at the second carrier frequency, a processing or control device connected to the first and second radio frequency receivers and adapted to control said radio frequency receivers to provide cyclic transition between reception and demodulation by both receivers of radio frequency signals at the first carrier frequency simultaneously with the recovery of redundant data packets containing information relating to the first vital sign from the first medical monitoring sensor, and the reception and demodulation by both receivers of radio frequency signals at the second carrier frequency simultaneously with the recovery of redundant data packets containing information relating to the second vital sign from the second medical monitoring sensor, wherein the first medical monitoring sensor transmits data packets with a first periodicity, the second medical monitoring sensor transmits data packets with a second periodicity and the processing device controls the receivers to provide cyclic transition between receiving signals at the first and second carrier frequencies so that the signal at each carrier frequency is received during a predetermined period of time, wherein during initial data acquisition, the total number of cyclically repeated predetermined time periods differs from the maximum time interval between packet transmission operations for each of the medical monitoring sensors, wherein the processing device is further configured to control predetermined periods of time based on the arrival times of the selected data packets. Method of receiving data packets when monitoring patients is carried out by using a device for receiving radio frequencies, which is also provided with a non-volatile computer-readable storage medium for receiving data packets.
EFFECT: use of inventions allows to improve operation with multiple of asynchronous data streams.
