FIELD: geophysics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysical methods of searching for mineral resources and can be used in exploration of oil and gas deposits. Disclosed is a method of searching hydrocarbons, involving excitation of a seismic wave in the analyzed geological environment and recording an electromagnetic signal of the hydrocarbon deposit in said region. Novelty is that seismic waves reflected from layers of hydrocarbon formation are recorded on surface of analyzed geological environment simultaneously with signal of electromagnetic field caused by seismic shocks without use of artificial source of electromagnetic field. Simultaneous recording of electrical and seismic signals is carried out using an electric dipole and a seismic receiver connected to the computer, which are installed in the analyzed zone. Computer software calculates a cross-correlation coefficient (CCC) RES(ti) between seismic and electric signals in time windows between adjacent strokes of the seismic vibrator and a seismic electric section is plotted in coordinates of the current time between adjacent shocks and CCC RES(ni), where ni – number of window within period T of repetition of impacts of seismic vibrator, wherein information in form of seismoelectric section of geological medium is used to increase reliability of search data.
EFFECT: high probability of detecting a productive formation and high reliability of search data owing to constructing a seismoelectric geologic depth profile as an addition to the seismic section.
