FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method for geophysical exploration of hydrocarbon deposits includes exciting elastic vibrations during repeated excitation of an electromagnetic field; measuring the electromagnetic field at multiple points in the vicinity of an electromagnetic field source before, during and after elastic excitation; using the obtained data to construct a series of geoelectric sections reflecting the relaxation of resistivity caused by elastic action; using the data to construct a 3D image of a prospecting area, while selecting anomalous zones with resistance relaxation in the section; determining presence and properties of hydrocarbon deposits from the value of the anomalous effect and nature of said relaxation.
EFFECT: high accuracy of exploration data.
