FIELD: geophysics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysics and can be used for direct prospecting of hydrocarbons both on land and at sea. Disclosed is a seismic-electric system for searching for hydrocarbons, including a pulsed non-explosive source of seismic waves for exciting a geo-section, connected to a seismic station, seismic cable with seismic receivers, deployed along the observation profile, connected to the seismic station. Seismic streamer also includes electromagnetic field sensors connected to seismic station, wherein the seismic cable is configured to simultaneously receive seismic and electromagnetic signals generated by a pulsed non-explosive source of seismic waves. Electromagnetic field sensors are located in the seismic cable at distance of 100-200 meters from each other, which corresponds to the size of the electric field of the equivalent dipole.
EFFECT: high probability of detecting a productive formation.
