FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for measuring moisture content of loose materials, particularly soil. Measurements are carried out with the help of capacitance sensor at frequency of not less than 100 MHz. Device for measuring moisture of loose materials comprises an electric pulse generator and a capacitor sensor. Generator is connected to a capacitor sensor through a ballast resistor, voltage on which is measured by a voltage meter using a second ballast resistor. At the same time capacitor sensor represents two plates arranged in one plane: water-proof dielectric, located in one plane: one U-shaped and straight plate located inside its cavity, at that mutual arrangement of plates corresponds to letter W.
EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of simplifying the moisture content sensor circuit and design.
