FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for measuring physical and technical properties of materials and can be used for measurement of absolute humidity of solid, loose and fabric materials. According to the invention, in a half-space of a given thickness, two interpenetrating bulk dielectric metering zones are formed, having a common base and a different response depth, difference of measured responses is used to calculate its moisture content, wherein calibration value is used, which is previously obtained on reference material, with accurately known moisture content and having characteristic size of structural element of surface of measured material. Device implementing described method comprises two capacitive transducers of planar type, adjustable resistive Wheatstone bridge, high-frequency alternating voltage generator, voltage amplifier and indication unit, capacitive converters are formed by three planar electrodes, made in form of three meanders each in one, which are located on a common base, wherein one of the outermost electrodes is grounded and is a common electrode for both capacitive transducers, width of electrodes and distance between them are identical and are given proceeding from thickness of layer of measured material and characteristic size of structural element of its surface, and dimensions of meanders are set proceeding from specified accuracy.

EFFECT: invention provides increase in the measurements accuracy.
