FIELD: metallurgy; chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a steel article for protection of electrical parts against mechanical damage and caused by electric short circuit, made of light structural steel in form of hot or cold-rolled strip, sheet or pipe, consisting of 6–30 wt. % manganese, up to 12.0 wt. % aluminum, up to 6.0 wt. % silicon, 0.04–2.0 wt. % carbon, as well as additionally one or more elements: chromium, titanium, vanadium, niobium, boron, zirconium, molybdenum, nickel, copper, tungsten, cobalt, up to 5 wt. % each and in total up to 10 wt. %, iron is the rest, including conventional impurities accompanying melting, wherein steel article with at least one side of electric dielectric part is provided with dielectric plastic coating. Said steel article is used to manufacture parts for protection against mechanical damages of electric energy accumulating systems, electrical installations or devices. Said parts are used to make housings, containers or cells from sheet and / or pipes.
EFFECT: providing a steel product with less weight, protecting electric parts from excessive deformation as a result of accident and caused by this short circuit, as well as from electromagnetic effects and electromagnetic compatibility.
