SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and a device for detecting precipitation in form of ice or snow on a controlled surface. Device for detecting precipitation in form of ice or snow comprises sensor (1) with structurally identical gaps or heat insulation isolated from sensitive elements (2 and 3), in each of which there is a heat conducting plate (11 and 12) with external working surface (13 and 14) for atmospheric action, built-in temperature sensor (6 and 7) T1, T2 of plates (11 and 12), heater (4 and 5) on its rear surface (15 and 16). Device also comprises hardware part (10) with devices for control, measurement, information processing, indication and / or registration of signals and data transmission. Sensitive elements (2 and 3) are equally horizontally oriented in space and are separated from each other by minimum distance (L). Control device is configured to switch on heater (5) of second sensitive element (3) with time delay Δt after heater (4) of first sensitive element (2) is switched on. Said device implements ice or snow detection method on controlled surface.
EFFECT: as a result, the evaluation reliability of the icing situation and / or snow cover in the sensor mounting area is increased.
