METHOD OF SURGICAL TREATMENT OF MACULAR RUPTURE WITH INTRAOPERATIVE APPLICATION OF PERFLUORORGANIC COMPOUND Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61F9/07

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely ophthalmosurgery. For surgical treatment of macular rupture with intraoperative application of perfluororganic compound (PFOC) microinvasive vitrectomy is performed with extraction and excision of posterior hyaloid membrane, temporary application on the macular area of the perfluororganic compound drops, staining and removal of the internal limiting membrane (ILM) and the final retinal tamponade with plugging substance. As a plugging substance at the final stage of the operation, air is used, and before the tamponade ends macular fractures are closed directly under the drop of PFOC, for this purpose, after removal of the ILM, the volume of the PFOC drop is increased, bringing its diameter to the diameter of the macular area, then the cannula is inserted through a drop of PFOC until the macular rupture and by means of passive aspiration the edges of the rupture are closed with the help of the cannula and wait 4–5 minutes. Thereafter, starting saline with which the vitreal cavity is filled is replaced with air, wherein the substitution is first carried out to the PFOC drop level, then around the drop, after which a PFOC drop is aspirated while continuing to supply air.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain a high functional outcome in the postoperative period, to reduce postoperative complications, such as cataract or glaucoma.
