FIELD: leather industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to leather industry and can be used in covering dyeing of leather for top of footwear and haberdashery articles. Method consists in successive application of non-pigmented primer, coating paint and fixer. Non-pigmented soil contains, wt%: an aqueous dispersion of copolymer of 2-vinylpyridine, dimethylaminoethylmethacrylate, dibutyl maleate and N-vinylpyrrolidone in ratio of 55:15:25:5, respectively, sodium polynaphthalenmethylsulphonate, penetrator and water. Coating paint contains a mixture of an aqueous dispersion of copolymer of 2-vinylpyridine, dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate, dibutyl maleate and N-vinylpyrrolidone in ratio of 55:15:25:5 respectively and an aqueous dispersion of polyurethane acrylate based on 1,5-naphthalene diisocyanate and oxypropylene methacrylate in ratio of 75:25, additives and water.

EFFECT: improved quality of leather due to decreased odor and higher physical and mechanical characteristics of the coating.
