FIELD: leather industry. SUBSTANCE: face of semifinished product is preliminarily polished and covered with impregnating priming, aged, and partially dried. Then coloring composition is applied containing pigment concentrate, acrylate film-formers, and calcium carbonate. Leather is further polished and coated by coloring water-emulsion composition containing pigment concentrate, acrylate film-formers, calcium carbonate, casein, polyurethane dispersion, and water. Lather is once more polished, coated twice by dye with intermediate and consecutive pressing, fixed, and finally pressed. Resultant chrome leather is fit for manufacturing uppers. EFFECT: improved consumer's properties of leathers from raw materials with large number of face defects. 2 tbl
