SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device for cutting hair. Device has a skin-contacting surface configured to be positioned close to the user's skin surface when in use, as well as an optical system configured to direct the cutting laser beam through the cutting zone in parallel and at a certain distance from said skin-contacting surface for cutting hair passing into the cutting zone. Device also has a skin sensor configured to determine one or more optical properties of the skin, as well as a control unit, configured to adjust one or more characteristics of the optical system depending on one or more optical properties of the skin recognized by the skin sensor. Present application also relates to a system for cutting hair, comprising a device for cutting hair, as well as a basic unit for placing the device.
