FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used for cutting of billets from sheet material with thickened outer elastic layers. First, outer layers are cut with a clamp and a female die, made with wedge-shaped annular projections, by inserting into outer layers until it stops in the central metal layer, at that initially into die elastic layer, prior to contact with central metal layer, puncheon is pierced with blind cylindrical cavity and chamfer in end part of annular one. Lower elastic layer is cut with an annular projection on the matrix. Annular clamp is then inserted into the upper elastic layer, the workpiece is rigidly pressed along the metal layer to the puncheon and the matrix and the final cutting of the part is performed by further movement of the puncheon.

EFFECT: higher quality of cut workpieces due to elimination of destruction of elastic layers.
