FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to passive radar and can be used in single- and multi-position airborne radio monitoring systems to increase the efficiency of identifying bearings with ground-based radio sources (RS). This result in the method of adaptive spatial identification of bearings with ground-based RS is achieved due to the fact that the on-board radio monitoring station during the flight of the aircraft determines the bearings αi on RS from xi, yi points (ith point). First bearing from the resulting group is successively compared with the others until the angle of intersection thereof exceeds a given value. Two bearings, meeting the specified condition, are considered to be the reference and find the coordinates of intersection point thereof. Regarding the pivot point, a confidence interval (CI) is built; bearings connecting the confidence interval are identified with the RS. For each current (ith) direction finding points, the radius and the angular size of the RS CI adapted thereto is calculated; bearings connecting the adapted CI are identified with the RS. Operations on the processing and identification of bearings with RS are performed in real time. System implementing the method comprises an on-board direction finder, a navigation system, a memory device, two devices of comparison, two devices of calculation, made in a certain way and interconnected. System of spatial identification of bearings with terrestrial sources of radio emission can be implemented within the onboard computing system.

EFFECT: increased likelihood of correct identification of bearings and accuracy of determining the location of the RS.
