FIELD: radio equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in single- and multi-position air radio monitoring systems to improve efficiency of omnibearings with ground-based radio-frequency sources. In the disclosed method, it is possible to take into account both errors of direction-finding of radio-frequency sources and errors in determining coordinates of a radio-frequency source by a triangulation method owing to use when identifying an elliptic confidence area, which orientation parameters and ellipse semi-axes values are determined by current parameters of location of reference points of direction-finding and radio-frequency source, as well as specified required confidence probability of identification and, in general, different mean-square errors of direction finding.
EFFECT: high probability of correct identification of omnibearings to the same ground-based radio-frequency source and accuracy of determining coordinates of radio-frequency sources.
