FIELD: nuclear physics and equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering, namely to fuel assemblies of nuclear reactors with water under pressure. Fuel assembly of nuclear reactor includes bundle of fuel elements installed in frame formed by guide channels and spacer grids, shank, detachable head containing upper shell, support element and springs. At that, the upper shell of the detachable head is made in the form of a pipe with a rigidly fixed plate interacting with the springs, support element is made in the form of a pipe located coaxially to the pipe of the upper shell with the required mounting clearance and having in the lower part of the bosses interacting with the springs, and in upper part thrust interacting with upper shell pipe. At that, in the plate of the upper shell opposite each boss of the support element there are holes, the shape of which corresponds to the shape of the boss of the support element.

EFFECT: modification of the detachable head design providing the pressing function of the fuel assembly, damping the energy of the control member with reduced axial dimensions of the detachable head.
