FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aqueous ink composition suitable for use in direct and indirect printing. Aqueous ink composition contains water, a co-solvent, a pigment encapsulated with a resin, a polymer latex and a dissolved low-molecular water-retaining agent. Total content of solid substances in aqueous ink ranges from about 2 to about 25 percent by weight relative to the total weight of the aqueous ink composition. Described also is a method of producing an aqueous ink composition and a printing method.
EFFECT: providing ink having high content of solid substances, but having significantly improved stability, application characteristics and printing quality, suitable for direct application on paper with preprocessing paper and without it, and for indirect printing, where intermediate substrate is treated and / or coated with separating layer.
