FIELD: printing industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition of aqueous ink for ink-jet printing. In the method, the composition comprises water, a co-solvent and an aqueous submicron dispersion of the colorant wax in the form of a plurality of particles with a size of about 150 to less than 300 nm. These particles contain a colorant core surrounded by a wax shell. Said colorant wax dispersion contains at least 25 % of the colorant of the total amount of the colorant and wax. Above dispersion is prepared by (a) melting and mixing a dry colorant with at least one wax to form a colorant concentrate; (b) milling the colorant concentrate (a); (c) combining the milled colorant concentrate (b) with water and dispersing to form a colorant wax dispersion. In this case, melting and mixing (a) as well as milling (b) are performed in an immersion or horizontal mill. And a piston homogenizer is used for combining (c).

EFFECT: proposed ink has an improved anti-adhesion release efficiency in transfer inkjet printers and provides prints with improved gloss properties with an increase in the shelf life of ink and the expansion of their color range.
