FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and a method of treating a liquid medium. Device comprises at least two chambers through which medium flows. Chambers are separated by at least one lockable nozzle with inlet part in the first chamber and outlet part in the second chamber. Locking nozzle has narrowing part at inlet, narrow part, ledge turned back immediately after narrow part and outlet part to outlet leading to second chamber, wherein the lockable nozzle is configured to provide cavitation as a result of the trapped flow effect. Device is equipped with one or several gas inlets, wherein said inlets have axes extending perpendicular substantially in tangential direction relative to suspension flow with provision of swirling diffusing gas in suspension.
EFFECT: method increases reaction rate and reduces consumption of cyanide.
