FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing polyethers of high molecular weight. Described is a method of producing polyether with high molecular weight based on propylene oxide by polymerisation of propylene oxide on a solid double cobalt cyanide (DMC) catalyst, obtaining of which includes steps of obtaining a catalyst suspension by reacting aqueous solutions of a salt of Co and a metal cyanide in the presence of a complexing agent and polyether, stirring the catalyst suspension, separating the polyester-containing catalyst from the suspension, drying the solid DMC catalyst, method is characterized by that addition of 0.0005–0.05 wt% is added to the reaction mixture at the stage of obtaining catalyst suspension 1,2-alkylene glycol in terms of polyether, and as polyether polyoxyalkylene diol or polyoxypropylene monool with molecular weights of up to 1500, and the catalyst suspension mixing and the polyester-containing catalyst recovery step from the suspension is carried out at temperature of 55–70 °C, wherein the step of drying the recovered solid DMC catalyst is carried out at atmospheric pressure at temperature of 70–100 °C.

EFFECT: obtaining polyether having high molecular weight.
