FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and relates to synthesis of a complex oxide of praseodymium, molybdenum and tellurium Pr2MoTe4O14, which can be used as a component in the mixture for producing praseodymium-containing tellurite-molybdate glasses. Initial components are separately dissolved in distilled water. Initial components used are praseodymium nitrate hexahydrate Pr(NO3)3⋅6H2O, tetrahydrate of ammonium heptamolybdate (NH4)6Mo7O24⋅4H2O and orthotelluric acid H6TeO6. Then obtained solutions are mixed. Obtained mixture is evaporated till dryness. Obtained dry residue is milled and calcined at temperature of 600 °C for 3–5 hours until powder of light-green colour is obtained. At that, weighed portions of initial components of such masses are used so that the ratio of Pr:Mo:Te atoms is equal to 2:1:4.
EFFECT: reduced duration and temperature of synthesis.
