FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used in milling planar surfaces by cylindrical cutters. Proposed method comprises rewinding of rolled strip relative to rotary cutters at machining modes to produce milled surface of specified roughness. Processing modes are set by pre-established regression relationships, which determine ratio of speed of rolling strip and rotation speed of cutters, providing distance L between ridges of roughness, which meets the condition L=(2÷4)Sz, where Sz – calculated value of supply to tooth.
EFFECT: higher quality of finished rolled stock due to reduced roughness of milled surface, more uniform load on cutter teeth, higher durability.
