FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industries.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in deep processing of coal, in development of oil and gas deposits, in oil refining and in petrochemical industry. In the desulphurising process using a combination of a suspension layer and a fixed layer, the desulphurizer is uniformly mixed with water to obtain a desulphurising suspension. Desulphurizer has particle size of not more than 20 mcm and is selected from a group consisting of amorphous iron oxide, iron oxide, iron hydroxide or any mixture thereof. Concentration of desulphurisation agent in desulphurising suspension makes 1–5 wt. %. Desulphurising suspension is mixed with a hydrogen sulphide-containing gas to obtain a first mixture which is passed from bottom to top in at least one reactor with a suspension layer. At that, the time for holding the first mixture in the reactor with the suspension layer is controlled is 5–60 minutes. From the upper part of the reactor with the suspension layer, the second mixture is released, subjected to gas-liquid separation and the gas phase is collected. Gas phase is fed into reactor with fixed bed for second step of desulphurisation to produce purified gas. Fixed bed reactor contains desulphurizer.
EFFECT: invention reduces content of sulphur in a hydrogen sulphide-containing gas.
