FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method for wet desulfurization using a suspension layer is proposed. Method includes a step in which a desulfurization slurry is mixed with hydrogen sulfide-containing gas to form a first mixture, the first mixture being passed upwards in a slurry reactor, it is controlled that the exposure time of the first mixture in the reactor is 5–60 minutes to allow the desulfurization suspension to sufficiently come into contact and react with the hydrogen sulfide gas, while the hydrogen sulfide gas is selected from the group consisting of biogas, coke oven gas, associated petroleum gas, natural gas, petrochemical gas, or any mixture thereof; and a stage in which the second mixture is discharged from the top of at least one reactor with a slurry layer, the second mixture being separated into gas and liquid to produce a purified gas. By this method according to this invention, it is possible to reduce the content of hydrogen sulfide in hydrogen sulfide-containing gas from 2.4–140 g/nm3 up to 50 ppm or less, resulting in a desulfurization efficiency of 98 % or more.
EFFECT: method of this invention is simple and rational, with high efficiency of desulfurization and regeneration, with simple equipment, occupies a small plot of land and has a low investment level, which is very suitable for promoting the development of industry.
