SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection and can be used for cleaning natural and artificial water bodies, the bottom of which is contaminated, in particular, with oil and oil products. Method for cleaning technogenically contaminated bottom sediments of water bodies, including oil and oil products, involves extraction of contaminated bottom sediments 2 in winter, removal of bottom soil in layers, as it is frozen with natural cold, with storage in temporary dumps with subsequent transportation outside water object. Prior to the beginning of treatment measures, the scale of contamination of the bottom of the water body and its degree of contamination are determined, the boundaries of contamination are determined with fixation by the GPS navigator on the map of the water body, and a water pollution map is plotted. Then, in winter period marking of water object 1 is performed by means of application of cuts in the form of mesh with formation of system of cells, removal of mechanical and / or manual methods of upper layer of ice 3 in mesh cells at a certain depth, step-by-step freezing of selected area of contamination of water object 1. Then marking is performed again by application of cuts in the form of mesh with formation of system of cells on next layers of ice 4 with their stage-by-stage removal by the specified methods at certain depth to reach bottom of water object.

EFFECT: similar solution improves reliability of localization of contamination source, prevents negative impact on environment.
