FIELD: agriculture; forestry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and forestry, in particular to methods of assessing the condition of stands, for example in zones of aerotechnogenic impact. For each evaluated tree species, taking into account the age and conditions of the growth location, based on the experimental data, a control value of the ratio of the increment by diameter of tree trunks in the crown area (at height of 1/3 of its length) is determined, taking from the vertex (an), and at chest height (at height 1.3 m), counting from soil surface (bn), in the evaluated tree stand – kn, comparing the calculated value with the control value of said ratio (ak/bk=kk), calculated by results of determining similar parameters in trees in a reference tree stand, selected in appropriate forest vegetation conditions, the same rock composition, age and thickness, which is not subject to attenuation factors. Weakened trees are considered, if kn<kk.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase accuracy of assessment of condition of stands as a whole, as well as trees in separate sections, its application will allow timely prescription and correction of sanitary measures.
