FIELD: pharmaceuticals; hygiene.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to a composition for teeth whitening and methods of using it. Disclosed composition contains: a) bleaching agent containing aqueous peroxide, where aqueous peroxide contains 35 wt% aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide, present in amount of 15 to 25 wt% of said composition; b) a hydrophobic carrier polymer for adhesion of a tooth whitening composition on the dental surface, where the hydrophobic polymer is a pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive present in amount of 10 to 30 wt% of said composition; c) at least one adhesion promoter, where the adhesion promoter contains plastigel and crospovidone, wherein said plastigel is 30 to 60 wt% of said composition and plastigel is a mixture of mineral oil and polyethylene, and crospovidone is from 10 to 20 wt% of said composition. What is also presented is a method of dental bleaching in a mammal, involving application of the said composition on the tooth, and a method for teeth whitening in the oral cavity of a mammal, involving a) application of the above composition on the dental surface to be bleached for a period of more than one minute a day; and b) repetition (a) for a period of more than one day in order to whiten teeth.

EFFECT: combination of the components of the composition provides longer retention time of the peroxide on the tooth surface and improved effect of bleaching compared to the control compositions.
