METHOD OF MELTING MULTICOMPONENT BRASS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC C22C9/04 C22C1/02

Abstract RU 2688799 C1

FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to melting of multicomponent deformable brasses intended for production of cast billets subjected to plastic treatment for production of parts operating under conditions of increased tribotechnical wear. Method of melting multicomponent brass includes melting of copper and introduction into produced melt of iron, manganese, silicon, aluminum, zinc and lead, wherein amount of aluminum required for alloying is divided into first and second portions with ratio of weight of first portion to total weight of aluminum from 0.4 to 0.5, required for alloying amount of iron is divided into two equal portions, first portion of aluminum is fed into molten copper, melt is held until melt temperature increases to 1,230–1,250 °C, first portion of iron is added, required amount of manganese for doping is added, second portion of iron and required amount of silicon are added with reduction of temperature to 1,180 °C, introducing second portion of aluminum until melt temperature increases 1,230–1,250 °C, lowering melt temperature to temperature of 1,180 °C, specified amount of zinc and lead is introduced and poured into ingots, wherein required amount of each of components is determined in accordance with specified chemical composition of brass.

EFFECT: technical result consists in obtaining a given structure of material, characterized by availability of intermetallides of required dimensions.
