FIELD: motor-car industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to alloys based on magnesium, in particular to composition of the magnesium alloys and methods of their production? That are widely used in motor-car industry. Invention presents on the basis of a magnesium, containing the following components in weight.%: aluminum 2.5-3.4, zinc 0.11-0.25, manganese 0.24-0.34, silicon 0.8-1.1, the rest - magnesium. It also presents a method providing for the following operations: loading of components, grouting of molten magnesium and introduction of a titan-bearing fusion cake with a flux at permanent mixing. Loading of alloying components of aluminum, zinc, manganese and silicon is realized in the form of a solid addition alloy of aluminum - zinc- manganese - silicon. Then they conduct grouting of the molten magnesium, and before introduction of a titan- bearing fusion cake with a flux the melt is heated up, subjected to aging at mixing. In some implementations of the invention the ratio of the additional alloy to magnesium makes 1 : (18-20); the melt is heated up to 720- 740 C; aging is conducted for 1-1,5 hours.
