FIELD: turning; drilling.
SUBSTANCE: damping elements for tool retention systems are designed for damping of vibrations and shocks that occur during machining with fastening of tools with force closure in tool seat or on tool itself. In system of tool fixation or on tool itself at least one damping element (6, 13, 26) is provided, made of alloy having shape memory with mechanical effect, so, that in damping position damping element (6, 13, 26), located on line of action of forces of clamped elements, due to mechanical force action and associated with it crystalline transformation caused by its preliminary voltage, is in a state of reversible deformation, characterized by hysteresis, with provision of mechanical energy dissipation, wherein the mechanical energy being damped is a cyclic oscillation or non-cyclic overload, which is transmitted in the form of shocks.
EFFECT: higher resistance of tool and surface finish quality.
