SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication and can be used in LTE systems in conditions of conflict of control signal in time and frequency with control signals provided in adjacent interfering cells. Method in a communication device configured to operate in a cellular communication system comprises steps of receiving a control symbol from a network node controlling a cell in a cellular communication system and serving a communication device, determining an interference environment for a control symbol, wherein determining the interference environment, comprising determining whether the control signal is conflicting in time and frequency with control signals provided in adjacent interfering cells, method includes selecting an interference mitigation algorithm based on a defined interference environment and performing a selected noise reduction algorithm for the received control symbol.

EFFECT: reduced noise for received control symbols.
